Alberto Giacometti

Ernst Scheidegger first met Alberto Giacometti in his summer studio in Maloja in 1943. This encounter developed into a life-long friendship and the most comprehensive collection of photographs and films to document the life and works of Giacometti. Scheidegger also produced a book entitled "Alberto Giacometti - Spuren einer Freundschaft" ("Alberto Giacometti – Traces of a Friendship“). And between 1964 and 1966 he made a film that to this day is regarded as the most important film document there is on Alberto Giacometti. Ernst Scheidegger has been on the board of the Alberto Giacometti-Foundation Zürich for many years. >more
